What is Swiss-Style Scheduling?

Swiss-style scheduling, also known as the Swiss system, is a tournament format commonly used in chess and other games and sports. In a Swiss tournament, players are not eliminated and instead are paired against opponents with similar records as the tournament progresses. The number of rounds in a Swiss tournament is typically predetermined and all players play in each round. The winner of the tournament is the player with the most points at the end of the final round. The Swiss system allows for a large number of participants and ensures that players are matched against opponents of similar skill levels throughout the tournament. PlayVS uses Swiss-style scheduling to determine opponents for esports. As a result, we will not know exactly who we are going to play until the Monday of match week. A schedule featuring the weeks we will play is available below. Opponents will be announced via our Facebook page on a weekly basis.
